PANTRY 101
When you have a well stocked pantry with good ingredients that you enjoy, chances are you'll always have something on hand to whip up a meal. But how do you know what really belongs there, anyway? Is your pantry merely a collection of random ingredients you've purchased for specific recipes that just sit there unused until the next time you decide to make that exact thing again? Or random condiments you bought one time because you thought maybe you would use it but after one or two times you're done with it (I see you, low fat italian dressing from 2017)?
We are all guilty of having that happen to us. Taking control of my pantry was one of the best things I ever did for my valuable kitchen space (trust me when I tell you NYC living doesn't give you very much to begin with), my health, and my wallet. The pantry is the basis for every meal you make. I want to make sure what you have in there is good quality, good for you, and going to be put to good use. Does this mean you can't have a bag of potato chips or plenty of chocolate? No! I have both in my pantry right this moment (balance, remember?).
We will work together to make sure you have a grasp on what you have on hand, know how to properly read ingredients and nutrition labels, and come up with pantry staples you should always have based on what you like, what you have time for, and your food goals as a whole. You'll start feeling a whole lot better about what you have on hand and in turn learn that the one ingredient you had sitting there forever can be used in so many ways. What's the cost? Whatever you think it is worth/whatever you are able to pay. Suggested payment of $20 for a 45 minute pantry discussion, however if you can only spare $1 that's okay, too. I want you to feel good about what you have in your kitchen either way.
