At some point in time (within the last couple years) my boyfriend and I discovered that one of the easiest proteins to cook is shrimp. It's fast - making it perfect for a weeknight or quick hunger fix, easy - even a novice cook can make it, and versatile - you can flavor it in so many different ways!
It has been WAY too long since I was able to post. I've been such a busy girl! Between a full time job and selling my gluten free/dairy free eats through Umi Kitchen I haven't had too much spare time to do photo shoots and write.
That being said, I've created some new dishes that have very quickly become my favorites - and this is one of them. It has been a huge hit with people throughout Brooklyn who have ordered from me and now I'm sharing it with all of you so you can make it at home if you aren't in the Brooklyn area! We have been quite lucky in Brooklyn this winter because it hasn't been nearly as cold as it was the last few years. Regardless, I still have that spring itch. And with temperatures rising into the 60s this week and Easter only three weeks away I'd say my itch is about to be scratched! Crossing my fingers that spring is truly here.
A couple weeks ago a few wonderful fellow home cooks that I recently met through Umi Kitchen and I decided to have a potluck brunch together that happened to fall on Valentine's Day weekend. I immediately got excited because, well, who the hell wouldn't?!
I knew straight away that I wanted egg cups to be my contribution. After all they are delicious, beautiful, and easy to transport. I don't know why but I have been obsessed with maple syrup lately. I think it all began because I put some in my vanilla roiboos tea and (obviously) that was delicious and now I just can't get enough!
My boyfriend and I often snack on popcorn as an after dinner treat or for something to hold us over. A lot of people go for the microwave kind but not only are those little bags full of added ingredients that aren't great for you but the cost adds up and it's just not necessary! Making popcorn on your stove is super easy and you can customize any way you like! |
